AK Strong Chamber to honor nonprofit at murder-mystery dinner

Alle Kiski Strong Chamber will host a murder-mystery dinner at 6 p.m. Nov. 7 at Hill Crest Country Club, Lower Burrell.

The play will be a 1950s Clue-inspired whodunit and there will be a basket raffle. Tickets are $50 and basket donations are welcome. For tickets and to arrange a basket donation, call 724-224-3400 or email lynda@akstrong.com.

The Chamber will recognize a Nonprofit of the Year at the dinner. To nominate a non-profit, send a statement highlighting what the group has done for the community and include your name and telephone number and a contact name and telephone number for the nonprofit. Welsh hymns to be featured at Tarentum church

The St. David’s Society of Pittsburgh will host a Welsh Hymn Sing at 3 p.m. Sunday at Central Presbyterian Church, 305 Allegheny St., Tarentum.

A tutorial on singing Welsh hymns will begin at 2:30 p.m. Welsh refreshments will be served and Welsh folktales will be told by puppets. Church pastor the Rev. Robert D. Dayton will be recognized for his 50th anniversary of his ordination.

Volunteers welcome at Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley

Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley is looking for volunteers to help out at the shelter in New Kensington.

There are opportunities available every day to suit every person including dog and cat care, event and fundraising work, cleaning, maintenance, doggy day outs, fostering, office work and administration.
