Leftover Halloween candy to be sent to troops overseas
Military Connections in Oakmont is collecting leftover Halloween candy to ship to our troops overseas.
All types of candy, including chocolate, will be accepted. Leftover candy can be taken during business hours to Tomlinson Insurance Agency, 506 Allegheny River Blvd., Oakmont, or Military Connections, 312 Auburn St., Penn Hills.
Deadline to contribute is Nov. 15. For details, visit militaryconnections.org.
Sock collection continues through Thursday
Rivers of Life Church, Arnold, is conducting a “Socktober” sock collection drive through Thursday at the church, 204 McCandless St.
Donations of new socks of all colors, sizes and patterns are welcome and will be donated to local homeless shelters. Collection bins are placed at the door.
Oakmont museum to offer Christmas candlelight tours
Kerr Memorial Museum in Oakmont is accepting reservations for the annual Victorian Christmas Candlelight Tours scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 6 and 13 at the museum, 402 Delaware Ave.
This year’s theme is, “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Cost is $15, and paid reservations are required. For reservations, call 412-826-9295.
