New Kensington school to salute local veterans
Mary Queen of Apostles School, 110 Elmtree Road, New Kensington will host a salute to veterans program Nov. 10 in the school cafeteria.
The school will honor all family members and friends who have served or are serving in the Armed Forces. Veterans should arrive by 12:15 p.m. and will eat a pasta lunch with students at 12:20 p.m. A patriotic music program will be afterward.

Tarentum-Brackenridge holiday parade seeks participants
The Tarentum and Brackenridge Recreation boards are accepting applications from groups, fire departments, clubs and organizations to march or sponsor a float in the Nov. 20 Christmas parade.
Lineup will begin at noon under the Tarentum Bridge. The parade will begin at 1 p.m. and proceed through both boroughs. For details, call Barbara at 724-826-1545.
Cemetery cleanup set at Greenwood Memorial Park
Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, will remove flowers and decorations and invert vases for winter on Monday, weather permitting. Families are asked to remove any items on the graves they wish to keep before that day.
