Burtner House Restoration Society selling commemorative Christmas ornaments
Burtner House Restoration Society is selling handcrafted Christmas tree ornaments to celebrate the 200th birthday of the homestead in Harrison.
Ornaments are brass with a gold finish and have an image of the house and Christmas tree with a bicentennial banner. Cost is $22 each plus $4.95 shipping and handling.

Free webinar offered for women small business owners
The Small Business Administration is accepting applications for certification from women-owned and economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses.
A free informative webinar with the Small Business Administration, “Women-Owned Small Businesses,” will be offered at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday by The Corner Launchbox, New Kensington. Topics will include an overview of the program and upcoming changes, program eligibility and making the most of Women Owned Small Business Certification.

Cheswick seeking volunteer to serve on zoning hearing board
Cheswick is seeking a borough resident to serve on the borough zoning hearing board.
The board hears appeals from the determinations of the zoning officer, challenges to zoning ordinances, requests for variances, special exemptions, unified appeals and changes of conforming uses. No prior municipal or zoning experience is required.
Interested residents should send a cover letter and resume to the borough secretary at boroughsecretary@cheswick.us or drop information off at the borough building, 220 S. Atlantic Ave. Deadline to apply is Friday.
Allegheny Health Network offers drive-thru flu shots
Allegheny Health Network will have two drive-thru flu shot clinics this week:
Dates and times are:
• 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Allegheny Valley Hospital Testing Tent, Heights Plaza, 1710 Pacific Ave., Harrison.
• 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, AVH New Kensington Outpatient Center, 651 Fourth Ave. Use the main entrance circle. In case of inclement weather, the clinic will be in the auditorium.
Bring photo identification and your health insurance cards. The fee for private pay is $25 for the flu shot. Cash and checks will be accepted.
