AK Strong Chamber to honor nonprofit at murder-mystery dinner

Alle Kiski Strong Chamber will host a murder-mystery dinner at 6 p.m. Nov. 7 at Hill Crest Country Club, Lower Burrell.

The play will be a 1950s Clue-inspired whodunit and there will be a basket raffle. Tickets are $50 and basket donations are welcome. For tickets and to arrange a basket donation, call 724-224-3400 or email lynda@akstrong.com.

The Chamber will recognize a Nonprofit of the Year at the dinner. To nominate a non-profit, send a statement highlighting what the group has done for the community and include your name and telephone number and a contact name and telephone number for the nonprofit. Purse bash to aid TinyCause dog rescue

A purse bash to benefit TinyCause dog shelter will be Sunday at Willowbrook Country Club, 181 Grossheim Road, Allegheny Township.

A cocktail social will be from noon to 12:30 p.m., brunch will be at 12:30 p.m. and raffles will start at 1 p.m. Tickets are $50 and include a mimosa, lite bites brunch, snacks, dessert, tea, coffee and water and two chances in the purse raffle. There will be a cash bar, a basket raffle and 50-50. Tickets for those who can’t attend are $25 and include two chances in the raffles.

Hatchet-throwing event to aid local cancer patient

The Linda Louise Foundation will host a cancer awareness fundraiser, “Hatchets for Hope,” at 3 p.m. Saturday at Las Hachas, 1043 Fifth Ave., New Kensington.

The event will feature hatchet throwing, prizes and raffles. Cost for throwers is $30 and $10 for spectators. Proceeds will be donated to Cami’s Cure that is raising money for breast cancer patient Cami McDonald. For tickets, visit lindalouise.org/events.
