Night of comedy to benefit Autism Speaks

Monroe’s Pit Crew will host a comedy night fundraiser to benefit Autism Speaks at 8 p.m. Nov. 9 at AK Valley Park, 600 Freeport Road, building 44, New Kensington.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Performers will include Gab Bonesso and David Kaye, along with headliner Dave Dugan. Tickets are $25, and include mixers. BYOB. A buffet dinner will be available and there will be basket auction and 50/50 raffle.

Calendar offers chance to win cash

Lower Burrell No. 3 and Arnold volunteer fire departments are sponsoring a 2020 Lottery Cash Calendar.

Astronomers plan Star Party

Amateur Astronomers of Pittsburgh will host a Star Party at dusk Saturday in the Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory, 225 Kurn Road, in Deer Lakes Regional Park, Frazer, weather permitting.

Amateur astronomers, students and the general public are welcome. Bring binoculars, a blanket and camping chair. If you obtained a telescope recently and don’t know how to use it, you are invited to bring it. Members of the group will help you. Please use parking lights only when you drive through the park gate.

JROTC Bingo planned for Nov. 17 canceled

The bingo to benefit the Valley JROTC that was scheduled for Nov. 17 is canceled.

All ticket money will be refunded. To obtain a refund, call Sarah Kubiak at 724-826-0461. The Valley JROTC Boosters and New Kensington Eagles Auxiliary apologize for any inconvenience.

Saturday: The Community Clothes Closet, 1129 Kenneth Ave., offers winter clothing, including coats, shoes, boots, for men, women and children, linens and blankets, and uniforms for students of Mary Queen of Apostles School. First-time customers receive 15 free items. Hours: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays, noon to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays. A drop-off container for donations is at the entrance.

Saxonburg

Saturday: GFWC Saxonburg District Woman’s Club will host a card and game party in Centennial Hall at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 310 Main St. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Admission: $8, includes lunch and there will be a basket raffle. Saturday: Tarentum Eagles Auxiliary will host a super bingo with a $1,000 must-go jackpot at 1 p.m. at the aerie, 204 Wood St. Doors open at 11 a.m. Tickets: $30, and include a meal.
