Harrison festival to celebrate autumn

The Harrison Fall Festival will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the grounds of Guardian Angels Parish, Natrona Heights.

Sponsored by the township recreation board, there will be a petting zoo, pumpkin decorating, refreshments and fall crafts.

Health and senior fair planned in Oakmont

A free health and senior fair will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church, 12 Washington Ave., Oakmont.

Sponsored by Pennsylvania Sen. Jay Costa and Rep. Joe McAndrew, there will be free flu and pneumonia vaccinations and blood pressure screenings, vendors and an opportunity to dispose of medications. Bring your Medicare or insurance card.

Ghost tours to feature citizens from Brackenridge/Tarentum history

Sign-ups are underway for the annual historical ghost tours planned Oct. 9 by Prospect Cemetery in Brackenridge.

Tours will begin at 6 p.m. and leave every 10 minutes. Those attending will have a chance to meet people from Tarentum and Brackenridge history as they are brought back to life by reenactors. The event is appropriate for all ages. Bring a flashlight.

Tickets are $10 each and reservations are required. For reservations, call 724-224-4552 and leave your name and telephone number. Proceeds are used toward the upkeep of the cemetery.
