Fall for Animals Festival planned Saturday and Sunday
The sixth annual Fall for Animals Festival to benefit local animal shelters and rescues will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Crooked Creek Horse Park, 467 Crooked Creek Dam Road, Manor.
There will be a Blessing of the Pets at 1 p.m. and a pet show at 2 p.m. Saturday. A car show will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Other activities will include craft and food vendors, music, wine tasting, pony and carriage rides, children’s activities and a basket raffle.

Knead Community Café welcomes donations and sponsorships
Knead Community Café in New Kensington offers free grab-and-go meals on Thursdays to members of the community, regardless of ability to pay.
About 230 meals are served weekly at a cost of $2.50 per meal. Full meal sponsorships are available at $450 per week. Smaller donations are always welcome.

Prospect Cemetery Ghost Tour books for sale
Although year’s Ghost Tours at Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge, are canceled due to the covid-19 pandemic, the cemetery is selling a 40-page booklet from past tours.
The booklet contains stories and photos about the history of the area and the people who lived here.
Booklets are $10 and are available at Diamond Antiques, 311 E. Sixth Ave., Tarentum, and by calling 724-224-4552 and leaving a message. Proceeds will benefit the cemetery.
Volunteers needed for monthly food distribution
Volunteers are needed for the monthly Allegheny Valley Association of Churches food distribution set for 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, Frazer.
