Deer Lakes HS plans homecoming celebration

The annual Deer Lakes High School homecoming parade will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at Deer Lakes Middle School and proceed down East Union Road to Lancer Stadium.

East Union Road will be closed to traffic from 5:45 to approximately 6:45 p.m. The coronation will begin at 7:05 p.m. and the football game against Burrell High School will kick off at 7:30 p.m.

Parking will be available on a first come, first served basis in the stadium and high school parking lots. Once those lots are full, vehicles will be redirected to the parking lots of Adam Siemanski Funeral Home, MC Enterprises and East Union Presbyterian Church. Shuttle service will be available from 4:30 pm. until 30 minutes after the end of the game from those lots.


Marconi Club to celebrate 110th anniversary

The William Marconi Club in Leechburg will celebrate its 110th anniversary Saturday.

A car cruise will be from at 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Leechburg’s Riverfront Park located behind Sprankle’s Neighborhood Market, Third Street. Vehicles should not arrive before 10 a.m. There will be signs to show the way into the park. Food and beverages will be sold.

A free dance featuring the band G6 will be from 7 to 10 p.m. in the club Mirror Room, 135 River Ave. Must be 21 to attend.
