Labor United celebration runs this weekend in Northmoreland Park
The annual Labor United Celebration will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday in Northmoreland Park, Allegheny Township.
There will be music, food, carnival rides, a circus, games, bingo, arts and crafts, an animal show and a flea market. Admission, parking and entertainment are free. The Zerbini Family Circus will be featured and musical entertainment will include performances by Luke Weltz and Part Time Cowboys on Sunday and The Fabulous Gem Tones and the Townsmen Plus One on Monday.
An all-day activity pass is $4 and provides unlimited use of all of the carnival rides, petting zoo and circus. Pets are not permitted. The event is being hosted by the Labor United Celebration Inc. and the Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation.
Free youth fishing event planned by Good Samaritan Hospice
Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, will sponsor a free youth bereavement care fishing event for children and their grandparents from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 10 in the pond behind the Concordia at Cabot’s Lund Care Center, 134 Marwood Road, Winfield.
There will be free bait, small crafts and free food. A fishing license is not required for children under 16.
A few fishing poles will be available, but please bring your own if you have one. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Hartwood Acres to host Allegheny County Music Festival
The Allegheny County Music Festival will be Sunday at the Hartwood Acres amphitheater, Indiana Township.
Openings act Affordable Floors will begin at 5:30 p.m., the Re-52s at 6:40 p.m. and 80s group Men Without Hats will take the stage at 8 p.m.
Food trucks will open at 6 p.m. Bring a blanket or chair. Rain or shine. A $20 per vehicle fee will benefit the Allegheny County Department of Human Services.
Leechburg Library announces new hours
Leechburg Public Library, 139 Market St., has announced new hours that will take effect Tuesday.
Hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and Sunday, Monday and Saturday closed.

Saturday: Zodiac Motorcycle Club will sponsor Ride For Pittsburgh to raise money for Pittsburgh Hires Veterans. Registration will be at 10:30 a.m. at the club, 1809 Fifth Ave., and kickstands up will be at noon. The ride will go to Rimersburg Veterans of Foreign Wars where refreshments will be served and return to Arnold for a silent auction, dinner and a 50/50 raffle. Cost: $20 per rider; $10 per passenger.
Saturday: Homemade doughnuts will be sold from 6 to 10 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1721 Victoria Ave. Cost: $8 per dozen. Orders: 724-335-0101.
