Redemption Church in Lower Burrell is collecting new and gently-used children’s Halloween costumes through Oct. 4 for an upcoming kid’s costume exchange.

Penn State Extension offers cooking webinar
Penn State Extension will offer a live webinar, “Let’s Cook Charcuterie Boards,” at 6 p.m. Oct. 1 online.
A charcuterie board is a fancy display of these thinly sliced specialty meats, pâté selections and/or whole salami to slice and will usually include a selection of cheeses and extras such as nuts, fruits, spreads, mustards, jellies, crackers, breads, olives and pickles.

Knead Community Café to distribute grab and go dinners
Knead Community Café in New Kensington will hand out free grab-and-go dinners from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the café, 1011 Barnes St.
This week’s sponsor is St. Barbara Philoptochos Greek Orthodox Church, Oakmont. Those picking up meals are reminded to observe social distancing while they wait in line.
PennDOT announces work in Allegheny Township
PennDOT crews will be working on Leechburg Hill in Allegheny Township this week.
Crews will be performing crack sealing. All work will be done on as weather permits. Motorists should expect delays and drive with caution in this area.
Salvation Army offers free lunches
The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center in Brackenridge offers free grab and go lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays in parking lot at the center, 917 Brackenridge Ave.
