Super bingo planned at St. Vladimir Church

St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, Arnold, will sponsor a super bingo Oct. 15 at the church social hall, 1610 Kenneth Ave.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and bingo starts at 2:30 p.m. There will be specials, a $1,000 must-go jackpot, a silent auction, small games of chance and a 50/50. Cost is $50 and includes lunch and a bingo package. Tickets will be sold at the door if available. Snacks, candy and pierogi will be sold. No outside food or beverages permitted.

Library donations to be matched

As part of Love Your Library Month, Community Library of Allegheny Valley and libraries across Allegheny County are accepting donations through the end of September that will be matched by the Jack Buncher Foundation.

Donations of up to $500 per donor made during September will count toward the pro-rated match. To contribute, call 724-226-3491 or email clavharrisonlibrary@gmail.com.


Teams needed for annual trivia contest

Alle Kiski Strong Chamber is accepting registrations for teams for its trivia night fundraiser set for 6 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Lower Burrell American Legion, 1100 Wildlife Lodge Road.

Cost is $25 per person with six to eight members on each team and includes dinner, soft drinks and water. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams. Sponsorship opportunities are available and the public is welcome to attend.

Oct. 2: St. James and Our Lady Queen of Peace parishes will sponsor a bus trip to Rivers Casino, Pittsburgh. Departure: 9 a.m. from the St. James church parking lot. The group will be at the casino for five hours. Cost: $35, includes $10 in free play and gratuity for the bus driver. A state-issued photo ID is required to receive the free play.
