Free American Sign Language classes offered

Bethel United Methodist Church in Lower Burrell will offer a free beginner American Sign Language class from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays Oct. 2 to Nov. 6 at the church, 150 Alder St.

Peoples Library plans annual wine fundraiser

The Peoples Library Adventure with Wine dinner will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 14 at the New Kensington library, 880 Barnes St.

Several wines will be paired with food presented by Hoffstot’s Cafe Monaco of Oakmont. Food stations will include antipasto, crostini, a salad, blackened fish tacos, apple cider pulled pork sliders and mini pumpkin sweet potato tarts.

Cost is $50 per person. There will be a basket raffle and 50-50, with proceeds to benefit the library. Reservations are required by 5 p.m. Oct. 9.
