Leechburg’s annual Pink Day festival on tap Saturday
The annual Leechburg Pink Day celebration benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on Market Street in Leechburg.
The event will involve organizations and businesses throughout the borough. Performances scheduled at the stage at Market and Second streets include Ms. Freddye and her Blues Band, Magic & the Hot Metal Brass, the Lenny Collini Family Pak and Joe Patrick & Four on the Floor.
A free Kids Zone will open at 10 a.m. at Kiski Valley Community Church, 219 Market St. A foam party will be at 4 p.m. in front of Chuck Smith Flooring on Market Street. Bring a towel.

Register by Saturday for a free pork roast dinner
Rebecca Molnor, owner of Knapp-Kins food truck, will serve free meals in memory of her mom Barbara Molnor from 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 11 at the site of the Apollo Wheel Good Wednesdays events at 310 Clifford Ave., in Apollo.
The menu will include pork roast with sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, hot dog, baked beans and potato salad. Reservations are required by Saturday. Avonmore to celebrate at annual Harvest Jubilee
The annual Avonmore Harvest Jubilee will be Friday and Saturday in the borough.
Hours are 5:30 to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday. Saturday’s activities will begin with a parade at 1 p.m. Registration and lineup will begin at noon at 616 Cambria Ave. There will be polka music from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. by the Skovenska Orchestra, the Avonmore’s Got Talent competition will begin at 2 p.m., both on the main stage.
There will be a pumpkin patch, bounce house, bingo, a rock wall, strolling magicians and fire shows. A fireworks display will be at 10 p.m. Saturday. For a complete schedule, visit Avonmore Community Association on Facebook.
