Valley High School plans homecoming parade

The Valley High School Willie Thrower Homecoming Parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Line up will begin at 5 p.m. The parade will begin between the Arnold police station and Sam’s Pop Shop and end by the Peoples Library parking lot in New Kensington.

Marine Corps to celebrate 250^th anniversary

The Westmoreland County Marines Detachment will host a Marine Corps 250^th birthday ball Nov. 8 at the Lower Burrell Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1601 Wildlife Lodge Road, Lower Burrell.

There will be a buffet dinner, silent auction, speakers, award presentations, a 50-50 and dancing to DJ Clem. Cost is $40. Attire is formal and paid reservations are required.
