NK Salvation Army to offer holiday assistance, coats
The New Kensington Salvation Army will accept applications for assistance for holiday food and gifts for children 13 and younger and Project Bundle Up coats for students younger than 18 at the center, 255 Third St., New Kensington.
Times are 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Oct. 4 to 7. Evening hours will be available from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Oct. 7.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come and most-need basis. Bring identification, proof of household income and expenses and children’s birth certificates. Covid-19 safety precautions will be observed. For information, call 724-335-7221, ext. 110.
Community baby shower planned Thursday in Harrison
A community baby shower resource fair for families and children will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Sheldon Park, Park Avenue, Natrona Heights, Harrison.
Sponsored by Sen. Lindsey Williams, there will be resources from UPMC, Highmark, Jeremiah’s Place emergency childcare and Pa. Women Work, car seat safety checks, raffles, winter coat giveaways from the Pittsburgh Fire Fighters, and an Allegheny County Health Department mobile covid-19 vaccination site for those who are at least 12 years old.

Leechburg Museum selling memorial bricks
Leechburg Area Museum and Historical Society plans to construct a sidewalk in honor of longtime museum president the late Nancy Crawford Nawrocki.
Bricks are being sold for $50 and contain three lines with 15 characters each that can be personalized with names of loved ones.
