Ghost tours to feature citizens from Brackenridge/Tarentum history

Sign-ups are underway for the annual historical ghost tours planned Oct. 9 by Prospect Cemetery in Brackenridge.

Tours will begin at 6 p.m. and leave every 10 minutes. Those attending will have a chance to meet people from Tarentum and Brackenridge history as they are brought back to life by reenactors. The event is appropriate for all ages. Bring a flashlight.

Tickets are $10 each and reservations are required. For reservations, call 724-224-4552 and leave your name and telephone number. Proceeds are used toward the upkeep of the cemetery.

Opportunities available to help senior citizens

Open Your Heart to a Senior is looking for volunteers to help our older neighbors.

People are needed to drive to doctor appointments, shop for groceries and make calls to check on and say hello to people who are alone. To offer your time and for information, call 724-205-6282 or email oyhs@wfspa.org.

Project SEED accepting donations to feed local children

New Kensington-Arnold Project SEED is accepting donations to feed over 300 children each week in the district’s schools.

This will be the 13th year that Project SEED will provide weekend food bags for children in need. Cost is $4 per child per week. This year’s fundraising goal is $40,000.

Fox Chapel
