Peoples Library mural to be dedicated to the late Jane Glenn
Peoples Library, 880 Barnes St., New Kensington, will dedicate a mural and the new library courtyard to longtime library advocate the late Jane Glenn at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the library.
Glenn served as president and treasurer of the library board and passed away Feb. 3, 2022. The mural was created by local artist Erin Burkett and was inspired by Glenn’s love of gardens. The public is welcome.
Harvest Festival planned by Burtner House Restoration Society
The Burtner House Fall Harvest Festival will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the homestead in Harrison.
There will be tours, crafters, Civil War reenactors, demonstrations, food, a bake sale and basket raffle. No parking is available at the festival. Free parking and shuttle service will be available from the dirt parking area at Citizens Hose Firehall, 965 Burtner Road, Harrison.
Admission is $10; students and senior citizens, $5; younger than 6, free. Proceeds benefit Burtner House Restoration Society.
Church festival proceeds to benefit scholarship fund
Community Church of Pine Run will host its annual Fall Scholarship Festival from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Kunkle Park, 285 Pine Church Road, Washington Township.
There will be music, food, children’s activities, a chili cook-off, vendors and raffles. Proceeds will benefit the church Educational Scholarship Fund. For more information, visit pinerunemc.org/scholarships.
