Concordia to celebrate Oktoberfest
Concordia Lutheran Ministries’ annual Oktoberfest will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Haven I, 112 Marwood Road, Jefferson.
A German-themed menu will be offered including pork roast, kielbasa and bratwurst and children 12 and younger receive a free food voucher. Entertainment will be by the Mikey Dee Polka Band from 4 to 7:30 p.m. and there will be free children’s activities. A fireworks display will end the day at 7:45 p.m.

Church festival proceeds to benefit scholarship fund
Community Church of Pine Run will host its annual Fall Scholarship Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Kunkle Park, 285 Pine Church Road, Washington Township.
There will be music, food, vendors and raffles. Proceeds will benefit the church Educational Scholarship Fund.

Sunday : The Outdoor Discovery Center at Crooked Creek will host, “Magic and Mystery at Crooked Creek,” from 1 to 5 p.m. at the center, 142 Kerr Road. Children 8 to 12 years old welcome. Parents should plan to drop off children at 1 p.m. and pick them up at 5 p.m. Children will go on a 1.5-mile hike and gather ingredients to create magic crystal wands to take home, play games and enjoy a snack.
