Northmoreland Park Labor Day party planned

The annual Labor United Celebration will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday in Northmoreland Park, Allegheny Township.

There will be music, food, carnival rides, a circus, games, bingo, arts and crafts, an arts and crafts show and a flea market. Admission, parking and entertainment are free.

The Zerbini Family Circus will be featured and musical entertainment will include performances by Thieves and Bone Jacked on Sunday and the Townsmen Plus One and Chuck Blasko and the Vogues on Monday.

An all-day-ride pass is $4 and provides unlimited use of all of the carnival rides, circus, pony rides, rock climbing wall, bounce houses, petting zoo and kiddie train rides.

Pets are not permitted. The event is being hosted by the Labor United Celebration Inc. and the Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation.

Free mental health seminar series offered

The Butler County chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness will offer “a free, eight-session education program Wednesdays, Sept. 29 to Nov. 17 online at Zoom.us for family, friends and significant others of adults with mental health conditions.

The course is designed to increase understanding and advocacy skills while helping participants maintain their own well-being.

Class size is limited and reservations are required. For reservations, visit namibutler.org by Sept. 15.

Help needed at Vandergrift Meals On Wheels

Vandergrift Meals On Wheels is in need of regular and substitute volunteers to help with food packing, driving and delivering.

Hartwood Acres to host Allegheny County Music Festival

The Allegheny County Music Festival will be Sunday at the Hartwood Acres amphitheater, Indiana Township.

Openings acts Funky Fly Project, Meeting of Important People and Sierra Sellers begin at 5 p.m. and The Commonheart will take the stage at 8 p.m.

Food trucks will open at 6 p.m. Bring a blanket or chair and arrive early to stake out your area on the lawn.

Admission is $20 per car and is donated to the Allegheny County Music Festival Fund, that benefits county children and youth. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.

• Leechburg High School Class of 1954 will have a picnic at noon Sept. 12 at the Gilpin Rifle Club, 111 Fazio Road, Gilpin. Bring a covered dish. Meat will be provided with the cost being shared. Classmates and guests welcome.
