Summit Hose Company to sponsor annual fall festival
The Summit Hose Company Fall Festival will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday in Tarentum’s Riverview Memorial Park on First Avenue.
There will be a carnival, crafters and food. Nightly entertainment will begin at 7 p.m. The schedule will include oldies band American Pie on Thursday, the 56 East Band on Friday and the Lenny Collini 4PaK on Saturday.
Drivers needed by Apollo library food program
Apollo Memorial Library is looking for volunteer help to transport food for its fresh and free food program.
Help is needed in the late morning every Tuesday through Fridays. Volunteers must be able to carry and transport food boxes.

Summer concert series to feature Shot O’Soul
The free Pittsburgh Brewing Co. Thunder Summer Music Series will feature the band Shot O’Soul Thursday at the pavilion at the Syria Shrine Center, 1877 Shriners Way, Harmar.
Concerts start at 7 p.m., rain or shine. Gates open at 6 p.m. There is free parking and food and beverages will be sold. No tailgating or outside food or drinks are permitted.
The series continues Thursdays through Oct. 12.

Sept. 24: St. James Parish is selling tickets for a grocery giveaway raffle. Cost: $10, includes two numbers. The winner will receive 10 pounds each of chicken drums, wings, thighs and split breasts; boneless pork chops, T-bone steaks, shrimp, 80/20 hamburger, hot dogs, hot or sweet sausage, kielbasa, Delmonico steaks and bacon, a case each of corn, baked beans, water, soda and beer, a Blackstone LP gas griddle and a freezer. Sept. 23: Tickets are on sale for a Haunted Halloween Bingo set for 7 p.m. at North Apollo Volunteer Fire Department, 311 N. 16th St. Doors open at 5 p.m. Cost: $30, includes games, supplies, food and drinks.
