Observance planned to mark Sept. 11 attacks

A ceremony to honor the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks will be at 8:46 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Lower Burrell American Legion, 1100 Wildlife Lodge Road.

Speakers will include Post Commander Larry Peoples, Lower Burrell Mayor Chris Fabry and personnel from Lower Burrell Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 in Kinloch.

The public is welcome.

Drive-thru food distribution set Tuesday at Pittsburgh Mills

Allegheny Valley Association of Churches and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will host a drive-thru food distribution for anyone in need from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in parking lot of the former JC Penney store at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, Frazer.

Reservations are not required. Do not arrive before 4 p.m. Guests should remain in their vehicles and open their door or trunk and will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.
