A threat made against Highlands High School on Friday morning was determined to be unfounded, according to district officials.
An alert was sent to families about 11:20 a.m., informing them of a threat made earlier in the day.
Principal Mike Toole said on a recorded message that the threat was investigated by Harrison police, school district police and administrators.
It was not clear whether the threat came in by phone, email or another method.
Harrison police were not immediately available for comment.
“The teams determined the threat to be unfounded,” Toole said.
“Our No. 1 priority is the safety of our students and staff, and we will continue to err on the side of caution when it comes to these situations.”
Friday was the last day of school for seniors. The district’s last day is June 8.
