More Westmoreland County and Alle-Kiski Valley content.

That’s the goal behind two initiatives the Trib is launching this week.

The two new features are:

Trib Extra

Subscribers will get access to a special section on TribLIVE.com where they can find expanded news coverage, from regional and national news to lifestyle coverage about home life, food and drinks, and the latest in entertainment. The section will include unique columns by Western Pennsylvania health experts answering questions about health issues.

It also will highlight special events at local breweries and wineries. And it will contain puzzles and photo galleries of newsmakers in our neighborhoods.

Westmoreland Plus and A-K Valley Plus

Subscribers will get four additional pages of news, sports and features as part of the digital edition of their daily paper.

This means content that readers won’t find anywhere else. Subscribers to the Westmoreland edition will get Westmoreland Plus; subscribers of the Valley News Dispatch will get A-K Valley Plus. It will include local obituaries, more local sports coverage and special features highlighting the people of the region.

Westmoreland Plus and A-K Valley Plus will be available Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays to print subscribers.

“This is a big win for our readers,” said Trib Total Media President and CEO Jennifer Bertetto. “We are giving them what they’ve been asking for: Expanded content and more stories about the communities where they live and work.”

The new content will be available with all paid subscriptions to the Trib’s two daily editions, the Westmoreland and Valley News Dispatch editions of the Tribune-Review.

There is no additional cost for print subscribers. All they have to do is register and log in.

“Our reporters are committed to creating compelling stories for our readers,” said Luis Fabregas, the Trib’s incoming executive editor. “This is a great way to showcase their talent. And, hopefully, our readers will spread the word and share the content they discover on our platforms.”
