A Unity man was sentenced Friday to five to 10 years in prison for supplying drugs in two 2017 fatal overdoses.

Jesse Joseph Hudspath, 28, pleaded guilty in January to two counts of drug delivery resulting in death, conspiracy, criminal use of a communication device and three other drug-related offenses. Prosecutors said he provided fentanyl-laced heroin to Malachai E. Mundorff, 21, of Derry Township and Kenneth Wayne Blystone, 53, of Hempfield.

Both died Nov. 5, 2017.

Hudspath was given credit for about a month in jail after his 2017 arrest. He was the suspected middle man in the deaths, previously testifying against a co-defendant from whom Hudspath said he purchased the drugs before providing them to Mundorff and Blystone.

Hudspath was to be the prosecution’s key witness against Theodore Brown, 26, of New Kensington but prosecutors said he refused to testify without a plea agreement. More serious charges against Brown were dropped in August and he was sentenced to 11½ to 23 months and two years of probation.
