Upper Burrell retained Hoffman Kennels for animal control services for the next two years.

Supervisors approved the two-year contract renewal last week for Hoffman Kennels for animal services, which was set to expire at the end of this year, Supervisors Chairman Ross Walker III said.

The contract states the township will pay Hoffman Kennels $200 per month.

“They’ve been our kennel for a long time,” Walker said.

Walker and Supervisor Mike Conley voted for the renewal; Kenneth Slahtovsky was absent.

“Their services have always been adequate. They do what they’re supposed to do in a timely manner. We’re pleased with them,” Walker said.

Hoffman Kennels is based out of Delmont and has been in existence since 1971. A call to Hoffman Kennels wasn’t immediately returned.

Nearby municipalities that use Hoffman Kennels’ services include Springdale Township, Lower Burrell, Frazer and East Deer.
