Days after closing due to a possible covid-19 exposure, Vandergrift’s Joseph A. Petrarca Pool is reopening Friday.

The reopening was announced Thursday on the Vandergrift Pool Facebook page. Officials closed the pool July 11 after an employee was possibly exposed to the coronavirus.

“To be clear, this is not a confirmed case but rather a possible exposure,” Vandergrift Borough Secretary Stephen DelleDonne wrote in a letter last week. “The safety of our staff and patrons is always of our utmost concern.”

Those going to the pool are required to wear a face mask when entering or leaving the pool and while ordering at the concession stand or going to the restroom.

Swim lessons are scheduled to resume Monday at 11 a.m.

Reservations are once again being booked.
