No injuries were reported Wednesday afternoon when a small school bus carrying five students and a vehicle collided in Springdale.

Springdale police Chief Derek Dayoub said officers were dispatched at 12:04 p.m. to the intersection of Pittsburgh and Butler streets to respond to the crash.

It’s unclear what led to the crash.

Dayoub said the incident is still under investigation.

Allegheny Valley School District spokeswoman Jan Zastawniak said the district-contracted bus had five students — four elementary and one junior high student — on board.

Students were participating in summer programming at Springdale High School, she said, and parents were called to pick up their children at the scene.

The children were checked by medics, as is procedure, Dayoub said.

The bus and the other vehicle, a gray Ford, were towed from the scene.

The scene was cleared by 12:50 p.m.
