Veterans Day events are planned in the Alle-Kiski Valley. They include:

Leechburg

A brief ceremony to dedicate the veterans’ banners in the borough will be at noon Thursday at Freedom Square along Market Street. The Rev. Gary Lyon will be the speaker, and the Leechburg High School Band will perform patriotic music. The date was changed due to the expected inclement weather.

Lower Burrell

The annual parade will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Line up will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Schreiber Street, and the parade will proceed down Leechburg Road. A ceremony will be held afterward at the Veterans of Foreign Wars helicopter area on Wildlife Lodge Road. Those attending are encouraged to wear a face mask and practice social distancing along the route.

New Kensington

Mary Queen of Apostles School, New Kensington, invites all veterans to participate in a Salute to Veterans Reverse Parade at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Greenwald school, 110 Elmtree Road. Veterans are invited to drive by the school, and students in fourth through eighth grade will wave flags and play patriotic music during the procession. Details: 724-339-4411
