The Walgreens store on Greensburg Road in Lower Burrell has closed, a spokesman for the pharmacy chain confirmed Tuesday.
The store closed on Nov. 13, spokesman Phil Caruso said.
Caruso said the store’s closing was part of a previously announced plan to close a number of stores across the country.
In a regulatory filing in August, Walgreens said it planned to close 200 stores in the United States as it seeks to cut costs.
“At this time I do not have any information about additional stores closing in the Pittsburgh area,” Caruso said.
Prescription records were automatically transferred to the Walgreens on Leechburg Road in New Kensington, Caruso said.
“Patients have been sent a letter in the mail with details about the prescription records,” he said.
All store employees in that location were given the opportunity to work in other stores, Caruso said.
