A Washington Township man accused of raping an unconscious 13-year-old girl last summer was arrested Wednesday.

Jarod David Altman, 18, turned himself in to authorities around 6 p.m., according to Allegheny Township police Sgt. Dan Uncapher.

He faces charges of raping an unconscious victim, statutory sexual assault, sexual assault, indecent assault and corruption of minors.

Police said he gave a girl vodka and sexually assaulted her after she lost consciousness.

The alleged victim told police that Altman initiated a social media conversation with her several days before the assault, according to Altman’s arrest papers. Altman suggested they get together to drink despite the fact he was aware of her age, the complaint said.

Altman was arraigned Wednesday night and was taken to the Westmoreland County jail after being unable to post $100,000 bond.

His preliminary hearing is set for March 24 before District Judge Mark Mansour, according to online court documents.
