Woman accused of attacking McDonald's coworker with headset ordered to stand trial
A former employee at the McDonald’s restaurant in Lower Burrell was ordered to stand trial on charges of assaulting a new co-worker by hitting her in the head with a $900 drive-thru window headset.
Nicole Monique Brundage, 37, of the 200 block of Freeport Road in New Kensington, was charged March 30 by Lower Burrell police with misdemeanor counts of simple assault and criminal mischief. She was issued a citation for harassment.
Brundage waived her right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday, June 27 before District Judge Cheryl Peck Yakopec, who ordered Brundage to stand trial in Westmoreland County Court.
Formal arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 30. She was released on a $1,000 unsecured bond to await trial, court records show.
Police wrote in a criminal complaint that officers responded to a 911 call March 9 for a report of a fight between employees at the restaurant in the 2700 block of Leechburg Road.

Brundage’s co-worker told police it was her third day on the job, and she was working the drive-thru window when she asked Brundage for help, police said.
She said Brundage became rude and made a vulgar comment, which led to a heated argument between them, according to the complaint.
The woman told police she reported the incident to a supervisor and was told Brundage would be sent home for the day, the complaint said.
The woman returned to work, but she and Brundage began arguing again.
The woman told police Brundage threw the headset at her, hitting her in the temple, and then pushed her into a fryer station, police said. She said she ran away from Brundage and hid in the restroom until police arrived, the complaint said.
The woman was treated for a mild concussion at an urgent care center, police said.
Court records show that, in August 2007, Brundage pleaded guilty to felony counts of theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy filed by Sharpsburg police for which she was sentenced to 18 months of probation.
In August 2011, Brundage pleaded guilty to two felony counts of theft by deception filed against her by the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office. She was sentenced to four years of probation and ordered to pay $3,700 in restitution, according to court records.
