A woman was injured early Monday afternoon when the Chevrolet Impala she was driving slammed into a utility pole in Springdale Township.

An Allegheny Valley police officer said the woman might have suffered a medical problem before crashing around 1 p.m. on Freeport Road just south of the New Kensington Bridge. Police did not identify the woman, but said she was taken to a hospital for treatment.
