Pittsburgh Technologies staffers remove debris from where a vehicle struck the side of the Washington Township business Tuesday evening.

A woman was taken to a hospital for evaluation after driving her vehicle into the Pittsburgh Technologies building in Washington Township.

Township police Sgt. Vincent Surace said officers responded to a report of a vehicle into a building shortly after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday along the 1000 block of Hunt Valley Circle in the Westmoreland Business & Research Park.

A staffer said he was in the break room when he heard what sounded like thunder and saw one of the walls split.

That thunder was a vehicle plowing into the side of the business.

Surace said a woman was picking up a relative who works at the facility and her feet slipped from the brake to the accelerator causing the crash. No charges are expected to be filed.

Surace said the driver was shaken up and taken to AHN Forbes Hospital for evaluation.

Several staffers were seen cleaning up debris Tuesday evening. They said no employees were harmed in connection with the incident.
