Authorities say an Apollo woman was killed Saturday morning at the U-Haul storage facility in Lower Burrell.

A man is charged with homicide after an Apollo woman was found dead Saturday morning at the U-Haul storage facility in Lower Burrell.

The Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Kelly R. Steele, 41, of North Ninth Street.

Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli identified the suspect as Alfred Steele. She did not release his address or his relationship with the victim.

Alfred Steele has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide, Ziccarelli said.

Ziccarelli released a brief statement Saturday night saying a woman’s body was found at the U-Haul facility on Leechburg Road in Lower Burrell. It is located in the former Burrell Plaza along Leechburg Road.

Westmoreland County detectives and assistant district attorneys were sent to the scene to aid Lower Burrell police with their investigation.

Kelly Steele was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Sean R. Hribal. The coroner’s office said the cause and manner of death will be determined after an autopsy set for Sunday by Dr. Cyril Wecht and Pathology Associates.
