The design is complete for the upgrade of Kiski Valley Water Pollution Control Authority pump stations.

All but one pump station has been designated for upgrades and modernization. Some of the pump stations haven’t been updated in 40 years or more.

The pump stations are located in East Vandergrift; Elder Run in Gilpin, near the former ATI Bagdad plant; Guffy Run, near the Parks Bend Industrial Park in Parks Township; Leechburg; Penn Run in West Leechburg; near the former Wean United in Vandergrift and near the Vandergrift ATI plant.

A pump station near Beaver Run Reservoir was upgraded recently and is not on the current improvement list.

KLH Engineering did the design, formulated construction plans and is obtaining permits for $472,000.

No date has been set for the start of the project or when the authority will seek contract bids.
