Victim of fatal shooting in Homestead identified; county cops seek tips on suspect

Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Homestead late Sunday morning.

The county medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Anthony Colizza, 65, of Homestead.

Allegheny County Police were notified of the shooting in the 1100 block of West Street shortly before 11 a.m..

First responders found Colizza with a single gunshot wound and transported him to a local hospital for treatment.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:33 a.m. Monday.

Police did not release any additional details about the incident.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the county police tip line at 1-833-255-8477 (1-833-ALL-TIPS). Callers can remain anonymous.
