A virtual meeting is scheduled to discuss an upcoming project to replace a bridge carrying Anderson Road over Wible Run in Shaler.
The bridge is located between White Tail Lane and Wible Run Road. An average of about 2,600 vehicles cross it every day, said Brent Wasko, spokesman for the Allegheny County Department of Public Works.
The bridge, which Wasko said is better described as a culvert, is rated in poor condition, he said.
The project will see the corrugated metal arch culvert replaced with a concrete box culvert. A failing retaining wall upstream from the culvert will be replaced as part of the project, Wasko said.
Constructionis scheduled to start in spring 2028 and be finished in fall 2029.
The online meeting to discuss the project will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, using Microsoft Teams.
Preliminary construction and traffic control plans will be discussed. The meeting also is intended to gather public comments before the project’s final design is finished.
Registration is required to attend the meeting.
Those wishing to attend can register by filling out a form online. A link and phone number to access the meeting will be emailed to those who register.
For those unable to attend, a recording of the meeting will be posted to the same website at the end of the presentation. A form also will be added to the website for residents to provide feedback.
