After seeing a contested Democratic primary for only one Ross commissioner seat, township residents will have contested races for four commissioner seats in November’s general election, according to unofficial Allegheny County election results.

In Ross’ Ward 6, newcomer Haley Warden-Rodgers defeated appointed incumbent Commissioner John W. Kettering for the Democratic nomination.

In the general election, Warden-Rodgers will face Republican Justin Jeffrey, who was unopposed for nomination in the primary.

After uncontested primaries, residents of Ross’ Wards 2, 4 and 8 will also see contested general elections.

In Ward 2, Democratic Commissioner Chris Rand Eyster is challenged by Republican Joseph Aguglia.

In Ward 4, the election will be between Democrat Dwayne Lee Allen and Republican Jared Miller.

In Ward 8, Democratic Commissioner Denise Rickenbrode is challenged by Republican Dean C. Riegel.

Ross has nine commissioners, each from a ward, who are staggered so that roughly half of the board is up for election in each municipal election year.
