Pittsburgh Public Schools switched to remote learning Friday because of bad weather.

Pittsburgh Public Schools students will learn from home Friday because of snow- and ice-covered roads, officials announced.

Students can access their lessons in the online platform Schoology. The day will follow the regular bell schedule of each school.

Earlier this week, the district closed several schools because of covid-related staffing shortages.

Families can get Grab and Go meal service from 9 a.m. to noon at the 29 school buildings previously closed because of teacher shortages. They are listed on the PPS website.

A covid dashboard on the website showed the district recorded 82 positive covid cases in the past 14 days.

Several other schools throughout the region are operating on a two-hour delay while crews work to clear snow and ice from the streets.
