One person was injured after a car exited Route 66, jumped a guardrail and crashed into a Delmont chiropractor’s office on Wednesday afternoon.

Delmont VFD Chief Don Cline said a female driver on Route 66 hit a pick-up truck, jumped the guardrail at the Greensburg Street intersection and crashed through the front of Edwards Family Chiropractic, which shares a small shopping plaza with Fox’s Pizza.

“The doctor was just getting out of his car when she came past and hit the building,” Cline said.

The car made it nearly all the way inside the building, Cline said, striking a small fireplace.

“We had to shut off the gas there,” he said. “The car was leaking battery acid and other fluids all over the carpet.”

The woman was transported from the scene by ambulance with a head injury.

No one inside the building was injured, Cline said.
