A Warren County man was killed Friday night after his car veered off the road and collided with a tree in Madison, according to the Westmoreland County coroner.

John D. Kelly, 73, of Sugar Grove Township was the lone occupant of the vehicle when it crashed in the 300 block of Madison Heights Road just after 8 p.m.

According to a coroner’s report, Kelly was driving east on Madison Heights Road when he travelled to the south side of the road, went through several residential yards and collided with a utility box, fence and tree. Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner identified the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the neck. The incident was ruled accidental.

State police in Greensburg are investigating.
