One new covid-19 case was reported Saturday in Westmoreland County, bringing the county’s total coronavirus case count to 437, state health data show.
The county’s death toll remains at 38.
Most of those who have died from covid-19 have been in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities. The oldest to die was 109, and the youngest was 61, with an average age of 83, according to Westmoreland County Coroner Ken Bacha.
Between Thursday and Friday, Westmoreland County added two coronavirus cases.
More than 8,100 residents have tested negative for the illness countywide.
Like most of Western Pennsylvania, Westmoreland has been in the yellow phase of the state’s tiered reopening plan for a week.
Across the state, officials reported 112 new deaths, bringing the state total to nearly 5,100. The 725 new cases reported between 12 a.m. Friday and 12 a.m. Saturday brings the running statewide total to 66,983.
The state has updated an interactive map that allows users to search for cases by county and ZIP code.
