State Police investigate a robbery at the First National Bank near the intersection of Rt. 30 East and Griffin Dr. in Unity Township, on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2018.

State police at Greensburg are searching for a man who robbed the First National Bank on Route 30, east of the Route 981 intersection, in Unity on Thursday.

The man entered the bank just before 11 a.m. and gave a teller a threatening note that demanded money, police said. He fled on foot.

The suspect was described as a black man standing about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, a thin build, wearing a grey sweatshirt with khaki pants. He is believed to be driving a white Nissan with damage to the lower driver’s side door. The vehicle is possibly a Nissan Juke, a subcompact crossover sport utility vehicle.

A police helicopter was deployed as part of the search.

Additional details were not available.
