Two Maryland brothers previously arrested in connection with a two-day armed robbery spree in three counties were indicted by a federal grand jury this week, according to U.S. Attorney Scott Brady.

Elijah Alvin Sayon and Rexford Wright, both 23, of Hagerstown, Md., are each facing four counts of robbery.

The men are accused of robbing a Sunoco convenience store in Monessen and a Marathon station in Rostraver on Aug. 3, according to the indictment. They following day, they allegedly robbed a GetGo in Kennedy and a 7-Eleven in Monongahela. All of the incidents involved someone being held at gunpoint, according to federal officials.

Police in some of those municipalities previously charged the men in connection with the robberies after they were found in Swissvale on Aug. 5. Authorities said the suspects drove a Chrysler Pacifica and one of the men wore a backpack on his front, pulled out a gun and demanded cash in at least two of the robberies.

Monessen police were able to get license plate information during the holdup there and authorities connected the suspects to the crimes. The vehicle was registered to Sayon, according to court papers.

Federal authorities are seeking the forfeiture of the vehicle, a shotgun and $130, according to the indictment.

Sayon and Wright are being held at the Allegheny County Jail on the state charges. Arrest warrants have been issued in the federal case. No court action had been set.

A third person, Kara Rose Guy, 22, of Pittsburgh, is charged at the state level in connection with the Rostraver robbery. She remained jailed on $100,000 bail in that case. Police said she came into the Marathon convenience store with one of the men just before the robbery and later counted the proceeds with them.

Charges against Guy related to the Monessen incident were withdrawn last week, according to court records.
