Two people were transported to area hospitals early Monday after a crash involving a tractor-trailer and two vehicles along Route 982 in Derry Township, according to a Westmoreland County dispatcher.

The crash occurred at 4:18 a.m. at the highway’s intersection with Lincoln Road, at the township’s border with Latrobe. Firefighters also had to contain a diesel fuel spill, authorities said.

Mutual Aid Ambulance transported the patients to undisclosed hospitals, according to first responders.

Bradenville Volunteer Fire Department was assisted at the scene by units from Latrobe and Youngstown.

State police in Greensburg are investigating. A report was not yet available.
