While December brought droves of shoppers to Westmoreland Mall, one store has shut its doors and another has announced its impending closure.

PacSun, also referred to as Pacific Sunwear, is slated to close, according to signs posted around the store. Based in Anaheim, Calif., the clothing store caters to teens and young adults.

Signs inside the store indicate merchandise is 70% off, while a sign outside reads, “We’ll miss you at this location.” PacSun also has regional locations at South Hills Village, Ross Park Mall and the Mall at Robinson.

Kitchen Collection closed this month, according to their Facebook page. Several Kitchen Collection stores are closing across the country, according to their website.

The kitchenware store sat next to Dressbarn, which was empty Monday afternoon, shelves pushed to the back of the store as the retailer prepares a national closure. The company announced in May they were closing all 650 locations, including five in the Pittsburgh area.

The mall, while set to get a new mini casino next summer in the former Bon-Ton space, has had myriad of closures including Sears, Charlotte Russe, Helzberg Diamonds, Gymboree and Payless ShoeSource. Verizon Wireless and Sleep Number were added to that list in July, while New York & Company will close by the end of the year.
