Three people had minor injuries after a car crashed into a home Sunday morning, according to Pat O’Mahony, fire chief of Murrysville Volunteer Fire Company No. 1.

The crash happened at 7:45 a.m. on Pleasant Valley Road. O’Mahony said the driver of a Buick LaCrosse reported falling asleep before leaving the road.

The car went onto the driveway and through the front yard before slamming into the home’s dining room, just to the right of the front door.

Firefighters extricated the driver and helped two residents who were home at the time get outside.

A disaster restoration company was assisting the residents. A tarp was placed over the hole left by the car. The home is near the top of a steep hill, close to Pleasant Valley Park.
