Four people were taken to Forbes Hospital on Friday following two separate crashes in Westmoreland County.

The first crash also was reported around 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Depot Street and Silvis Farm Road in Hempfield. Mutual Aid officials said two vehicles were involved and one person was entrapped. Three people were taken by ambulance to the hospital in Monroeville.

The second crash occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of Village Drive and Route 30 in Unity.

Mutual Aid spokesman Shawn Penzera said a driver struck a pole and flipped the vehicle. That driver also was taken to Forbes Hospital.
