The Easter Bunny is slowly making its way to the greater Pittsburgh area leaving chocolate and eggs in its wake. Whether you celebrate the holiday or not, there’s still plenty to do this weekend in Westmoreland.

Cantilever Tours

The Westmoreland Museum of American Art, 221 N. Main St., Greensburg, will be hosting free cantilever tours starting at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Docents will lead tours of the Cantilever Gallery, showing guests the newest special exhibitions on display there. On Saturday, guests are invited to explore “65 Artists, 65 Years: An Anniversary Exhibition.”

Saturday night concert at Green Beacon Gallery

Owners of Green Beacon Gallery, 235 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, present a lineup of local indie alternative rock bands including Old Game, Sommelier, Paging Doctor Moon, Oli Alexander and Lounna.

For $13, guests can enjoy music while browsing through the gallery featuring over 500 pieces of artwork. Attendees over 21 are welcome to bring their favorite alcoholic beverage to enjoy during the show.

‘Jesus Christ Superstar’

Just in time for Easter, “Jesus Christ Superstar” is coming to The Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg, to retell the series of events during the last week of Jesus’s life.

On Friday and Saturday, the rock opera is celebrating its 50th anniversary of telling the story through the eyes of Judas. Both shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25; discounts are available for students and seniors.

50th annual family prayer breakfast

Today, the Greensburg Christian Businessmen’s Connection, in cooperation with Greensburg Kiwanis will host the 50th Good Friday Family Prayer Breakfast.

The breakfast will begin at 7 a.m. at Stratigos Banquet Centre, 131 Colonial Manor Road, North Huntingdon. Families and individuals are welcome to come for prayer, food and for a special presentation from guest speaker Sid Bream, who had a five-year stint at the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1985 until 1990.

Easter egg hunt

12th Octave Studios, 217 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Greensburg, will be hosting a child-friendly Easter egg hunt Saturday.

Children ages 3 through 12 and their families are welcome to explore the studio while searching through the nooks and crannies to find eggs of all different colors.

The hunt begins at 1 p.m. The event is free to attend, but donations are accepted. For more information, visit eventbrite.com.
